A few scoops – that’s when you want a little bit of ice cream, isn’t it?
In late 2014, the team at Facts. – the minds behind the viral video hits Americans watching hurling for the first time and Irish people trying American snacks for the first time – rounded up a group of tourists visiting Dublin and asked them to guess what pieces of Irish slang could actually mean.
From ‘scoops’ to ‘langer’, ‘shift’ to ‘Coppers’ – nothing was off limits.
Despite their best efforts, the German, American, French and English visitors ultimately ended up being stumped by some of the more creative phrases.
The video proved to be such a success that Facts. decided another round of translations was the best way to go.
Although they may not have always been certain of what they were saying…
At least everyone ended up being great sports about the video.
