Teeling Whiskey Company hosts a unique 1916 themed whiskey dinner to launch The Alchemy Room
The Teeling Whiskey Company, Ireland’s leading Independent Irish Whiskey producer, launched its brand new event space, ‘The Alchemy Room’ on Thursday night (28th April) with a 1916 themed dinner and whiskey pairing event for an intimate group of 30.
Working with food historian, Regina Sexton and Peaches Kemp of Feast Catering, Teeling Whiskey created a menu to reflect the meals most commonly enjoyed during the 1916 period in Ireland. In a modern twist, Teeling Whiskey’s award winning portfolio of whiskeys were used as both an ingredient and as a pairing, making for an extra special treat.
The Alchemy Room, was the perfect setting on the night, lit by deep spotlights and stand-alone candelabras in between floral arrangements reminiscent of the era. The Alchemy Room, which can host up to 45 guests for a private dinner or 60 delegates for a drinks reception, was named so “as _the word Alchemy literally means the process of creation and transformation which reflects the art form of whiskey making_” as noted by STEPHEN TEELING of the TEELING WHISKEY COMPANY.
Decorated with hand crafted whiskey barrel chandeliers, The Alchemy Room is an atmospheric, unique venue where Teeling Whiskey can create tailor made packages for a perfect day and indeed, create bespoke experiences. This was truly marked at the launch with the distinctive 1916 Dinner. The space is not only a unique private space ideal for dinner or drinks, it can also be transformed into a suitable conference boardroom.
On the night, Regina Sexton spoke about the food and drink in the Liberties at the time of the 1916 rising. While Alex Chasko, Master Blender at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, highlighted the changes to the whiskey making process taking place in the Liberties in 2016, 100 years on and added commentary as to how the whiskey complimented the
food through each course. As part of the event, guests enjoyed a five course meal based on the Saint Enda’s Menu, offered with kind permission by the National Library of Ireland, paired with Teeling Whiskey’s award winning portfolio of products.

Jack, Stephen and their team were ever willing to work together to devise an event which was unique and something guests will remember for years to come. Together with the wonderful creativity of Peaches and Domini Kemp we created an experience with strong resonance of early 20th century Ireland. The menu was very special given its connection with so many prominent figures in 1916 and in reproducing it, we got a very good insight in to the dining rituals of the period. Furthermore, to set it in the heart of Dublin and in the perfect setting of The Alchemy Room made it a truly unforgettable night.”_
